fuck your vague-beyond-reason advertising campaign. Rather than create an air of mystique or intrigue, it merely inspires annoyance at the refusal to communicate normally.
the pity of it all
information on substack probably can't be trusted. people are attention-seeking sensationalists who will stop at nothing to garner the grossly-verbose approval of their pseudo-intellectual peers on there
diaryslop: to be avoided in creation and consumption. feelings, and their consideration, are for the faint of heart
As I lay awake at 2 in the morning, a recalled youtube short plays in the forefront of my mind. The animal crossing-esque squeak-speak of a streamer in fast-forward - jynzxi? who could tell. Another short materializes next to it. It's becoming a dizzying cacophony.. the pitch rises as the words come faster. my ears ring.
im unfortunately just normal enough for people to find it weird when I'm weird
I was stressed out. I extracted an airpod from its case as if it were a cigarette while simultaneously launching iheartradio, laughing internally as I told myself "..something to take the edge off." Without thinking about it, I nearly shoved the airpod into my mouth seconds later.. I've never even smoked
You can't know what you don't know, or in other words you don't know what you don't know and you therefore have no idea what you have no idea about. however this is only necessarily true in certain situations, since you can certainly be aware of your blinding ignorance in regards to some specific thing, and therefore know that you don't know (as far as I know, which leaves the unbudging blindspot of what I don't know, because we can't know what we don't know, as I've already established according to the logic that I'm aware of, or that I know as far as I know.)
"Beno!" by playboi carti sounds like background music from an indie platformer
artificially bucolic neighborhoods: scams, or are they actually onto something?
this inexhaustible inner wellspring of restlessness is killing me
I ate breakfast before leaving the house today, for the first time since starting college.
Why don't youtube subtitles include profanity? do the deaf simply not deserve to be privy to the utterly scandalous words that the rest of us get to enjoy?
As of late the world bears down upon me mercilessly; I cannot help but feel that I must be a particularly weak specimen of a human being.
I am the guilty consumer of degenerate media that you think I am
I had a dream where my mom told me that when she was a kid, she played Asuka Langley in some kind of live action NGE remake. This made me incredibly proud, because asuka is supposed to be super hot and they must've thought my mom looked good enough to play her, this must mean that I have incredible genes and a cool af mom. However, given that the maternal figure in nge is supposed to be rei, what does this say about my subconscious? If anything at all? what strange freudian conclusions can be drawn here?
vivaldi has this nasty tendency as of late to not update tab titles, so my email tab has the wrong number of supposedly unread emails in its title and it's throwing me off
girl carrying a huge stick just walked into the room i'm in right now. incredibly bizarre but somehow admirable
You know something is wrong with the program when its output begins to resemble badly formatted ascii art
They're talking about genshin impact on NPR (it's being used to demonstrate china's emerging influence in new fields.). I haven't even played it, but hearing those words on the radio gave me whiplash. Like the time they announced Technoblade's death on the BBC world service.
The contempt I have for Pottery Barn is limitless
Long grass can smell fear. Push your pathetic eco-conscious electric grass eviscerator with unadulterated confidence, and you'll never stall in the shredded corpses of your innumerable victims ever again.
Performative decrial of perversity: The subconscious mental phenomenon by which those with conventionally questionable tastes in media assure themselves of their own legitimacy.
Using tildes as tone modifiers is cringe, in my opinion.
Your contemporary surrealist art doesn't impress me.
Self of Theseus
Quicksilver VS 9/11: Who would win?
Aerospace engineering: only the highest quality of bullshittery flies here (literally).
I am genuinely irritated with myself right now. I have allowed myself to carelessly use the word "aesthetic", in the same way that I used to murder people for doing.
I previously mentioned that I thought the chainsmoking cat anime had the second best animation I'd seen this year. I've now come to realize that while it is good, it's gaining an unfair advantage through its grimy setting - it's easy to add detail when the detail is dirt. Still, its intro alone is godamn incredible.
The inability of the future self to be satisfied with the past self is a crushing limitation to creation and free expression. In other words, I wish I could do more things without worrying if I'll eventually find it to be cringe, and end up taking it down. This page is a good example of something that may eventually end up in the crosshairs of my future self.
I can't believe I live in a universe where a show about a chainsmoking cat has the second best animation I've seen in the past year.
I've just realized that media is the plural of medium. How this wasn't clear to me before, I'm unsure.
unplanned rapid disassembly is often caused by unplanned rapid assembly.
why in the FUCK is "darkgray" significantly lighter than "gray"??
Holy frick i am tired
I can't decide if "So human an animal" by Rene Dubos is genius, or common sense repackaged into fancy ass word salad
mmmm non linear level design and the fact that you need not be a couch
living in North Korea, or other isolationist and repressive dictatorships, honestly sounds kind of cozy.
"The Hunger Games" is probably responsible for this line of reasoning in my mind.
"If you ever find yourself the smartest person in the room, change rooms."
Just when you think vegetables can't have phones, onion rings. Just when you think appliances can't say hello, Micro waves. And just when you think
chinese food can't move, spring rolls.
When you make a ton of money it's called making a killing, but if you make just enough it's called making a living. hm.
I should make a 3-d printed mechanical pencil to get attention on Knockology ahaha
New ink is here, I'm a big fan. (Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo) WOOHOO
Do I put more effort into the tone of the things I write than into the content itself?
The current windows media player is hot garbage
You know when you're in some kind of quiet environment and you accidentally make a loud noise, and even though silence returns immediataly
afterwards, the feeling of disturbance persists for a bit, as if the sound were still hanging in the air?
If I only think about an interaction a relatively long while after it happens, does that mean that it was actually a
perfectly normal interaction and I'm just coming up with something to be anxious about? especially since I don't remember thinking about it
much at all in the immediate following moments, unlike interactions that I'm sure did feel awkward.
social interaction is a little like minecraft PVP
People are simultaneously far more similar and far more different than they realize
